Free course to a better focus

A new course is being offered to Bishop Auckland residents that will help improve focus and concentration.

The Introduction to Mindfulness course will give learners the chance to discover methods such as meditation, relaxation and breathing techniques. The five week programme aims to provide ways to better manage thoughts, feelings and body sensations in everyday life.

Introduction to Mindfulness

The course is the latest in a series being offered by County Durham Housing Group right across the county covering a range of subjects from first aid and food safety to money management and counselling. The courses are free for County Durham Housing Group tenants and anyone who is unemployed living locally.

Introduction to Mindfulness starts on Friday, 15 September at Selby Close Common Room, in St Helens Auckland, from 9.30am.

County Durham Housing Group Community Training Coordinator, Sean Robson, said: “This course is designed to provide learners with the techniques and advice to manage their thoughts and feelings rather than being overwhelmed by them.

“It’s exactly the kind of session that anyone could benefit from and put their new learning into practice immediately.”
