New guide to help boost skills in County Durham

A new guide from one of the region’s largest social landlords will help residents find ways to boost their skills and job prospects.

County Durham Housing Group has produced the pocket sized ‘go group’ booklet, which is full of free ways that tenants, and other residents, can improve their qualifications or gain new knowledge.

‘go group’ contains everything from English and maths courses to opportunities to learn about mental health, and includes details of the innovative ‘Stepping Stones to Employment’ programme that aims to enhance jobseekers’ prospects.

Thousands of guides are being distributed throughout the county, which are also available from all County Durham Housing Group offices, by calling 0191 349 7753 or by emailing training@cdhg.co.uk

County Durham Housing Group Community Investment Team Leader, Angela Stobbart, said: “We offer a wide range of courses and learning opportunities right across the county.

This new guide brings details of everything we offer into one place, making it much easier to find the course or training that could make a big difference to your skills.

“As a housing association, we can go further in what we offer to our tenants, and others living in the area. So much of what we provide is free and in easy to access locations in communities across Durham. There really is something for everyone.”
